I finally did it!
Beginning a blog has been in the making for quite some time now but unfortunately it was getting pushed farther down the priority list. Today marks a brand new day in history… the blog is finished (or it’s just getting started)!
I’m not a huge fan of writing, nor do I really enjoy telling stories. This might cause you to think why in the world would I start blogging then?
Well, here is your answer in a nutshell…
I am constantly being asked about my decision to pursue a healthier lifestyle starting in 2012. I was the first to join Randy and Yvonne’s CrossFit box in their garage. Basically, I was their guinea pig.
It was the first time I was introduced to this so-called “CrossFit” workout program. You could say it was hate at first sight. The workouts were horrible and I dreaded the entire :60minute class. Randy and Yvonne encouraged me to stick with it and consider changing my diet to Paleo. “NO BAGELS?” I remember yelling. It sounded impossible.
Slowly but surely, I cut out the bagels, ditched the daily candy bars, and cried about passing up a slice of pizza…but I kept on going.
Soon enough, I saw the scale drop, my waist started to shrink, my sleep improved, and my workouts were not as dreadful as they were in the beginning.
I am proud to stand (or sit) here and say that since my journey began in 2012 I have lost and MAINTAINED to keep off 39lbs. Some can drop this in a year, and some sketchy programs even say this can happen in a few months. But I believe that this weight was dropped in the right and healthiest way possible, diet and exercise.
No pills, no prescriptions, no fad diets, no cutting calories… just clean eating and sweating my TAIL off… literally.
Through my journey, many people have asked…
How did you do it?
How do you keep the weight off?
What is meal prepping?
Can you share your meal plans and shopping lists?
Well, I have finally decided to put my answers all in one place…. this blog. I am not a doctor, nor a licensed nutritionist but what I am qualified to share is my personal journey (all of the ups and the downs). Hopefully this blog can help YOU honor the magnificent temple that the Lord has given to you.
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
As some of you know blogging is not easy, in fact, it is extremely time-consuming. With that being said… please give me lots of grace as I am going to share my journey with you all as often as I can.
